Accessibility Statement
At ShiftBee we treat accessibility as part of the product, not an add-on. We work to make this site and service usable by people with disabilities, in accordance with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Act, 1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Accommodations) Regulations, 2013.
Conformance level
This site was built to conform with Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is anchored to WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Testing included an automated audit (axe-core), a full keyboard navigation pass, and review of semantic structure and colour contrast.
Accessibility features on this site
- The site is fully operable by keyboard, including all links, buttons, the contact form and the cost calculator.
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first item in the tab order on every page.
- A clear, high-contrast focus indicator is shown on every interactive element.
- Headings follow a correct hierarchy and page regions are marked with landmarks.
- Language and direction are declared per page, and the site supports screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack) in both Hebrew and English.
- All meaningful images carry alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Colour contrast meets a ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text.
- Form errors are shown as text, marked on the field itself, and announced to screen readers.
- The site honours the operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting and reduces animation accordingly.
- An accessibility preferences menu is available on every page (the button in the bottom corner, or the Alt+A shortcut) offering: link highlighting, heading highlighting, a readable font, contrast modes, larger text, line spacing, a black or enlarged cursor, and stopping animations.
What the preferences menu does — and does not do
The preferences menu is a user comfort tool only. It changes the presentation according to what you asked for, and nothing else. It does not alter page content, does not auto-generate alternative text, and does not rewrite accessibility markup. The accessibility work itself is built into the site. We state this explicitly because accessibility "overlay" products routinely present themselves as a complete accessibility solution — they are not, and we do not use one.
Known limitations
As of the update date above, these are the gaps we are aware of:
- The animated schedule demonstration at the top of the home page is an illustration of the product. It carries a text description for screen readers but is not navigable as a data table. All the information it conveys also appears in the page text.
- The application itself (app.shiftbee.co.il) is undergoing a separate accessibility effort and is not yet complete. This statement covers the marketing site only.
- A full manual screen-reader pass across every supported browser has not yet been completed.
- This statement has not yet been reviewed by a certified Israeli service-accessibility expert (morshe negishut sherut). We intend to complete that.
We are working to close these gaps. If you run into a problem that is not listed here, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
